Rubber Dam Clamps: Winged, Wingless, Molar and Premolar Patterns
A rubber dam clamp anchors the dam to the tooth and keeps the field dry. This collection brings together 24 stainless steel clamps in winged and wingless, molar and premolar patterns, priced from $3.30 to $6.55. Every clamp ships from Sialkot with worldwide delivery. All 24 are currently sold out, so please contact us for availability.
Winged or Wingless?
Winged clamps have projections on the jaws that hold the dam sheet clear of the field, so the clamp and dam can go on together. Wingless clamps leave those projections off, for cases where wings would get in the way. The tooth and the way you work decide which one to choose.
Molar Clamps
For posterior teeth, 12A and 13A are the classic winged patterns. The Molar Clamp Rubber Dam with 13A Winged Posterior Isolation Design is priced at $3.30, and the Winged Rubber Dam Clamps with 12A Posterior Isolation Design are $4.29. For mandibular molars, choose the Lower Molar Clamp or the Clamp for Lower Molar with No. 3 Isolation Design at $4.18. We also list the Rubber Dam Clamp for Molars, Size A5, and several general molar clamps at $3.30.
Premolar Clamps
Premolars are smaller, so they need flatter jaws. The Premolar Clamp Number 202 and the Rubber Dam Clamp for Premolar, Size 2A are both $3.30. The Premolar Rubber Dam Clamp and the Clamp for Premolar Teeth are listed at the same price.
Retentive and General Clamps
The Clamps Brinker is a retentive clamp for partially erupted and broken-down teeth, priced at $3.30. The collection also includes the Winged Clamp for one-step dam placement, endodontic clamps for root canal treatment and retreatment, tooth clamps for fillings and two black clamps at $6.49 and $6.55.
Choosing the Right Clamp
Choose a clamp that touches the tooth at four points on its proximal surfaces, which keeps it stable. A clamp that is too large presses on the gum, and one that is too small slips. Check each product page for the clamp number and size. Tie floss through the bow during placement, so a fractured clamp can be retrieved.
Complete Your Isolation Setup
Clamps work with a punch, forceps and a frame. See our rubber dam instruments for punch pliers, clamp forceps and Young frames. Our endodontic range also includes pluggers, spreaders, excavators and ready-made isolation kits.
Care and Ordering
Check the jaws before each case. A clamp whose jaws have spread no longer gives four-point contact, so replace it. Orders over $99 ship free. Practices and distributors can ask about volume or OEM options through our contact page.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between winged and wingless clamps?
Winged clamps have projections on the jaws that hold the dam clear, so clamp and dam can be placed together. Wingless clamps leave them off. Compare the 13A Winged and Lower Molar clamps.
What are 12A and 13A clamps?
They are classic winged clamp patterns for molars. See the 12A and 13A clamps in the collection.
What is a Brinker clamp?
It is a retentive clamp for partially erupted and broken-down teeth. See the Clamps Brinker.
Why tie floss to the clamp?
Floss through the bow lets you retrieve the clamp if it breaks or slips, instead of it being aspirated.
