Hand and Foot Surgery Instruments

6 products

Hand and foot surgery instruments divide into three families: one moves tendon, one prepares bone, and one carries a removable blade into a space too narrow for a fixed one. Peak Surgicals stocks six patterns across all three, in German stainless steel and CE marked and built under ISO 13485. Compare the full range in the grid below.

Tendon and Bone: Two Different Grips

Tendon work needs a jaw that holds without cutting. A tendon under tension will slip out of a smooth jaw and will fray in a toothed one, so tendon-pulling forceps run a long jaw with either a smooth or a lightly serrated face, chosen against how much traction the transfer requires. Caroll Tendon Pulling Forceps is supplied in both jaw configurations for that reason, so the tray carries the choice rather than compromising on one.

Bone preparation is the second family. Mini Fine Hand Osteotomes run 2mm to 12mm cutting widths on a 165mm shaft, because a phalanx and a metatarsal present very different working surfaces and an osteotome wider than the bone cannot be seated square. Small Stille Type Mallet drives them with a nylon face that softens each strike, which is what small bone needs where a steel head would deliver more force than the site can absorb. We supply every pattern at MOQ 1.

Why a Removable Blade Changes the Approach Angle

Flexible chisels solve a different problem again. A fixed-blade osteotome has to be introduced along the axis its handle allows, and in a confined hand or foot exposure that axis is often not available. A removable-blade system separates the two: the introducer handle goes in, and blades of different widths and curvatures lock into it once positioned, so one handle carries several profiles and the approach angle is no longer set by the blade.

Flexible Chisels and Blades supplies those components individually, in straight and curved profiles across three widths, with the introducer handle and the Allen key that secures the blade. Removable Flexible Chisel and Blade Set groups them as configured straight and curved sets. Buyers should confirm the exact blade widths, blade count and handle quantity against the catalogue before ordering, and Fine Hand Set covers the separate osteotome-and-mallet combination.

Material, Reprocessing and Certification

Every pattern is manufactured from German stainless steel and passivated for corrosion resistance across repeated cycles, with a nylon striking face on the mallet. The inspection points differ by family: on tendon forceps check the jaw faces meet along their full length, because a jaw that closes at the tip alone will crush the tendon at one point; on fine osteotomes check the bevel under magnification, since a 2mm edge has almost no material behind it and a small chip removes a meaningful fraction of it; and on removable-blade systems check the locking mechanism engages fully and the blade seats without play, because a blade that shifts under a mallet strike is travelling somewhere the surgeon did not intend. Clean immediately with a neutral-pH enzymatic solution, dismantling removable-blade assemblies first, then rinse with deionised water and dry fully, following the reprocessing instructions supplied.

These are Class I reusable devices, supplied non-sterile, CE marked and built under ISO 13485, with a one-year warranty. We ship at MOQ 1 with free shipping over $99. See Osteotomes, Chisels and Gouges for the wider range, or browse all Orthopedic Instruments.
