Uterine Dilators and Curettes
Uterine dilators and curettes are the core instruments for dilation and curettage (D&C). The cervix is gradually opened with graduated dilators, and a curette is then used to remove or sample tissue from the uterine lining. The procedure is used for diagnosis and for treating conditions such as retained tissue after pregnancy loss or abnormal bleeding.

Typical Instrument Sequence
A D&C tray usually moves through three steps: sound the cavity to measure depth, dilate the cervix with graduated dilators, then curette. The speculum, tenaculum and ovum forceps support those steps.
