Elevator ENT Instruments

In ear, nose and throat treatment elevator instruments are used to separate mucosa from cartilage in mastoidectomies and several other surgeries. Some popular patterns you will come across include cottle, freers. However, if you have trouble locating the desired pattern, contact us for more information. Sharp freers are used ideally for initial elevation of the mucoperichondrial flap. After the flap has been elevated a little bit more the blunt type freers of the elevator may be used for additional surgeries.   The same instrument has both blunt and sharp ends on both sides.  To achieve desired results surgeons normally invert the instrument as well.  It is also available in various lengths.
