Collection: Rubber Dam Instruments for Tooth Isolation Setup

Rubber dam instruments are the reusable tools that place and hold the isolation dam, the punch that makes the holes, the forceps that seat the clamp, and the frame that tensions the sheet. Peak Surgicals supplies twelve patterns covering the full setup, in stainless steel, from $16.50 to $33.00. Each is CE marked and built under ISO 13485. Compare all twelve instruments in the grid below.

The Setup Sequence: Punch, Forceps, Frame

The punch makes holes in the dam sheet positioned to the teeth being isolated, the forceps open and seat the clamp on the anchor tooth, and the Young frame tensions the sheet to retract the lips and cheeks, each instrument does one stage of the setup, and the sequence is the same every time. Missing any one stops the procedure.

The punch comes in two patterns. The Ivory Rubber Dam Punch Pliers (PS-D-141, $27.50) carry a self-centring coned piston that prevents partially punched holes, while the Ainsworth Punch Pliers (PS-D-140, from $22.00) use a rotating wheel offering multiple hole sizes to match different teeth — larger for molars, smaller for incisors. The forceps also come in patterns: the Rubber Dam Stock Forceps 17cm (PS-D-143, $22.00) and Brewer Forceps (PS-D-142, $16.50) have notches near the beak tips that locate the clamp holes and stabilisers that stop the clamp rotating during placement. The Young Frame tensions the dam — the Adult 15cm/6" (PS-D-139) and Child 13cm/5" (PS-D-138) cover both patient sizes. We supply every instrument at MOQ 1.

Individual Instruments, Sets and Clamp Storage

Beyond the core three, this range covers the accessories that make a setup efficient. The Rubber Dam Clamps Set of 12 (PS-D-144, $22.00) and Set of 6 (PS-D-135, $16.50) bundle the anchor clamps for a practice equipping a tray, while the Clamps with Holder set (PS-D-137, $33.00) and standalone Clamp Holder (PS-D-136, $27.50) keep clamps organised and sequenced through reprocessing, the difference between reaching for the right clamp and searching a drawer.

This collection covers the instruments and accessories; for the individual anchor clamps in specific tooth patterns and numbers, see our rubber dam clamps range of twenty-four patterns. For complete pre-assembled isolation kits combining forceps, clamps, punch and frame in one tray, see endodontic kits. The instruments here let a practice build or replace a setup component by component rather than buying a full kit.

Material, Reprocessing and Certification

These instruments are forged from stainless steel, corrosion-resistant across the constant autoclave cycles a chairside setup sees. The punch cutting table is the wear point that matters most: a dull or misaligned punch leaves ragged holes that tear during placement, so check that it cuts clean discs and set aside any punch that leaves partial holes. Forceps beaks and stabilisers should hold a clamp without slipping, and ultrasonic cleaning before autoclaving clears debris from the punch mechanism and forceps joints where residue collects.

Every instrument is Class I, reusable, CE marked and built under ISO 13485, the documentation a dental supply team verifies before qualifying a vendor. Warranty is one year with return-and-replacement, MOQ is 1 piece, orders over $99 ship free in carton box packing, and OEM marking is available for distributors.
