Extracting Forceps Fig. 22R Lower Right Molars & Third Molars with serrated tips

Oral surgery is a procedure that involves the success of extraction of mandibular teeth, which is dependent upon the capability to exert a deep, gentle pressure on the root bifurcation. The Extracting Forceps Fig. 22R is a special instrument designed specifically for lower right molars as well as the third molars.1 Its unique anatomical structure and advanced gripping capabilities make it an essential tool for handling complicated posterior extractions.

Specialized Design for the Lower Right Quadrant

The "R" in Fig. 22R indicates its right-side particularity. In contrast to universal forceps, their beaks in the 22R have been designed to be shaped to match the particular anatomy of the buccal and lingual parts that are found in the lower molars of the right. They are made with pointed tips that fit securely into the furcation of the molar roots, thereby providing the stability required to support the buccal and lingual "rocking" motion needed to increase the size of the socket.

Maximum Traction using Serrated Tips

One of the biggest issues in molar extraction is instrument slippage. This could result in soft injury to the tissues or even a fracture of the crown. 2 Our Figure. 22R is a model with deep serrated beaks that provide:

  • Anti-Slip Safety: Serrations "lock" to the tooth's structure when there is saliva or blood.
  • Controlled Power The superior grip allows the user to exert maximum leverage while minimizing effort on the hands. 3
  • Atraumatic Accuracy: By reducing the necessity for repositioning repeatedly, the tips are designed to create a more clean, more efficient extraction.

Heavy-Duty Stainless Steel Construction

To handle the powerful force required to extract sturdy lower molars, as well as the third molars, impacted Forceps are constructed out of high-quality Stainless Steel.

  • Strong Tensile: It is designed to withstand massive mechanical stress without bending or breaking.
  • Sterilization-ready Autoclavable, fully resistant and impervious to corrosive effects caused by the medical cleansing agents.
  • Ergonomic Handle: With a knurled handle to ensure that the tool remains stable in the hand of the surgeon and gives confidence during the most difficult surgical procedures.

Clinical Advantages of the Fig. 22R

The Fig. 22R is especially effective in extracting third molars (wisdom teeth) which are fully erupted, or at least partially accessible. Its ability to engage the bifurcation of the root is superior to flat-beaked forceps, which allows for a more precise and less painful extraction.
