Cardiovascular clamps occlude blood vessels without crushing them atraumatic serrated jaws that stop flow long enough for the vessel to be repaired, grafted or anastomosed. Peak Surgicals supplies eighty-three patterns spanning aortic, peripheral, carotid and vena cava clamps, in German stainless steel, from $8.80 to $44.00. Each is CE marked and built under ISO 13485. Compare all patterns in the grid below.

Aortic Clamps: The Largest Family in Cardiovascular Surgery

Aortic clamps occlude the aorta proximal or distal to the site being repaired, giving a bloodless field for aneurysm repair, coarctation correction, or valve replacement and the Debakey pattern remains the reference standard because it distributes clamping pressure most evenly of any design tested. A peer-reviewed pressure study measuring seven clamp types under identical aortic occlusion found the Debakey pattern produced the lowest maximum jaw pressure of any tested, the mechanical property that protects the delicate vessel intima from crush injury during clamping.

Debakey Aortic Clamp (PS-8229, $19.80) and Debakey Aortic Aneurysm Clamps (PS-8230, $22.00) carry that double-row fine-tooth pattern in straight and angled variants. Cooley Aortic Aneurysm Clamp (PS-8218, $33.00) and Cooley Aorta Clamp (PS-8240, $30.80) use angled, curved jaws with atraumatic horizontal serrations the pattern Dr. Denton Cooley developed and which remains standard in cardiac operating rooms today. Kay Aorta Clamp (PS-8241, $33.00), Lambert Kay Aorta Clamp (PS-8242, $27.50), Parsonnet Aorta Clamps (PS-8243, $17.60), Zanger Abdominal Aorta Clamps (PS-8228, $26.40), Lemole Strong Aorta Clamps ($33.00) and Wylie Abdominal Aorta Clamp ($26.40) cover the range of jaw strength and curve profiles aortic work demands. Crafoord Coarctation Clamp (PS-8275, from $19.80) named for Dr. Clarence Crafoord, who performed the first surgical correction of aortic coarctation in 1944 remains the pattern surgeons reach for on that specific procedure, alongside Glover Coarctation Clamps (PS-8279, $27.50) and Cooley Coarctation Clamp (PS-8194, $22.00). We supply every pattern at MOQ 1.

Peripheral and Carotid Clamps

Peripheral vascular clamps occlude saphenous vein grafts and limb vessels during bypass and revascularisation. Debakey Peripheral Vascular Clamp (PS-8207, $26.40), Debakey Curved Peripheral Vascular Clamp (PS-8214, $22.00) and Cooley Peripheral Vascular Clamp (PS-8153, $19.25) cover general peripheral work, while Gregory Profunda Clamps (PS-8222, from $27.50) and Dale Femoral Popliteal Clamps (PS-8333, $27.50) target specific vessel sites.

For carotid surgery, Thompson Carotid Closure Clamp (PS-8200, $15.40), Kartchner Internal Carotid Clamp (PS-8152, $17.60) and Javid Carotid Artery Bypass Shunt Clamps (PS-8351, from $15.40) hold the field during endarterectomy and shunt placement, and Henly Subclavian Artery Clamp (PS-8311B, $22.00) extends coverage to the subclavian vessel. Kitzmiller Type Clamps (PS-8197, $16.50) serve microvascular and carotid repair specifically.

Vena Cava, Anastomosis and Specialty Patterns

Satinsky Vena Cava Clamps (PS-8262, from $16.50) named for Dr. Victor Satinsky partially occlude the vena cava or aorta without stopping flow entirely, the design that made side-biting anastomosis possible. Debakey Satinsky Clamps (PS-8264, $30.80) and Cooley Satinsky Clamp (PS-8188, $11.00) apply the same principle with each surgeon's jaw geometry.

For anastomosis, Derra Vena Cava Clamps (PS-8259, $27.50), Derra Miniature Anastomosis Clamps (PS-8253, $27.50) and Debakey Multi-Purpose Clamps (PS-8295, from $38.50) hold vessel ends steady during suturing. Pediatric cardiac work has its own dedicated range: Cooley Neonatal Vascular Clamps (PS-8359–8363, $17.60–$18.70) and Satinsky Pediatric Clamp (PS-8195, $16.50) are scaled for infant vessel diameters. DeBakey Ring Handled Bulldog Clamps (PS-8176, from $14.30) occlude small vessels, coronary or carotid during anastomosis, the smallest and most delicate patterns in the range.

Reprocessing, Jaw Integrity and Certification

Jaw serration is the inspection point across every clamp in this range: DeBakey-style double-row teeth must remain sharp and aligned to grip without slipping, since a clamp that loses purchase under arterial pressure is a surgical emergency, not a minor fault. Check that opposing jaws meet flat along their full length and that the ratchet lock engages cleanly. Ultrasonic-clean before autoclaving so tissue residue does not collect in the serrations.
